Michael Craig-Martin
마이클 크레이그마틴

Michael Craig-Martin (b. 1941) explores the boundary between the everyday and art, rendering familiar objects as simplified outlines stripped of their meaning and reassembled with unrelated, vivid colors that dismantle the traditional language of painting. His readymade-derived compositions of mass-produced objects, treated as "objects of worship for the 21st century," repeatedly invite viewers to question what we see and think we see, what we know and believe we know.
