Hong Mi-hui

Hong Mi-hui makes bas-relief paintings that use canvas fabric, drawing paper and protective acrylic frames as sculptural objects in their own right, dismantling and reassembling the flat picture plane to expand painting into three-dimensional space. She holds a BFA and MFA in Western painting from Sungshin Women's University. Her solo exhibitions include "INTERSPACE" (Suhoh Gallery, Seongnam, 2022) and "Another Space" (Onyu Gallery, Anyang, 2020), and she was selected artist of the 14th Suhoh Gallery open call in 2021, with residencies at The Gallery Young (Yangju) and Surisan Sangsang Village (Gunpo).
