Won Beom-sik Solo Exhibition 'Archisculpture Collage'

René Descartes claimed that the design of architecture built by one master is more beautiful than that of buildings by many architects. The Archisculpture Project instead makes a gigantic architectural sculpture from the various features of buildings by many different architects — a collage of a "Phantasmagoria" discovered through a flâneur's view of the metropolis. Within this project, a variety of architectural elements are reborn as a gigantic and historic new sculpture, connecting the meanings of architecture while dismantling the cityscape rather than merely producing an aesthetically pleasing artwork.
