Clean white clouds recur throughout Lee Sang-hyun's work — a nostalgia for a nature receding behind the great tide of urbanization. The clear sounds and scents of nature remain within us as recollection; longing for nature past is, at bottom, a longing not just for a place but for the pure days of childhood. By placing clouds within the shimmering forms of city buildings, the artist awakens the childhood landscape still lingering in our memory.
