Sanghyun Lee

Sanghyun Lee (b. 1975) casts white clouds in stainless steel, set against silhouettes of city buildings, as a nostalgic gesture toward the natural landscapes lost to urbanization and toward the purity of childhood memory. He holds a doctorate in sculpture from Chonbuk National University and a BFA/MFA in sculpture from Kunsan National University. He has held over twenty solo exhibitions since 2000, including at the Seoul Arts Center and Suhoh Gallery, and has received awards at the Suncheon, Jeollabuk-do, Gyeonggi and Gyeongsangbuk-do art competitions.
