Lim Jun Young's artworks, selected for the 6th Soohoh exhibition, show his cultural tradition and insights. Reflecting his delicate and extraordinary perspectives on history and culture, the artist lets us transcend time and space and reminisce about the old days.

"Like Water" (Part 1) expresses the ceaseless energy of people in a megacity as flowing water, an organic and dynamic image; Part 2 depicts buildings that have themselves flowed through time, and people harmonizing with that space, disappearing like water and time. My objective is based on the concept of Yin-Yang: just as there is no Yin without Yang, there is no building without human beings, and vice versa.

"Architectural Form" renders architectural beauty through the mingled characteristics of space, size, light, and materials — sometimes a calm resting moment, sometimes a dynamic dash with glow. The architectural forms here are discovered not in extravagance but in the conciseness of minimal geometric shapes, materials, and colors; each building contains time, history, and culture as well as fundamental material.
