Dongkyun Cho
조동균

Dongkyun Cho (b. 1963) practices a form of geometric abstraction that reduces objects to circles, spheres, and lines to examine the relationship between reality and things, while resisting conventional geometric abstraction through deep consideration of the unseen. He earned his BFA and MFA in Western painting from Hongik University, and his ongoing series moves through phases of "presence and absence," "painterly layering," and "attaching and detaching lines" in a continuous, dialectical progression toward the limits of abstraction.
