Lee Jeong In: Solo Exhibition — Saving a Fish

We are pleased to open the year 2018 with the solo exhibition of Lee Jeong In, an artist we met through the 9th Soohoh Artist Open Call. In her work, one senses the artist accompanying a tree through a tunnel of darkness at a certain period of life — connecting, healing, and passing through together. They say the English word "blessing" comes from the French "blesser," meaning "wound." With age, one increasingly feels that blessing comes through wounds and pain. A good life is not one of comfort and ease, but one where, facing the darkness and pain before us, we endure with the eye of the heart without giving up — and when we do, a path begins to appear even within the dark. A good life is, in the end, a good death. As we welcome the new year, we hope this exhibition offers a moment to reflect on what makes a good life.
