Chaerin Im

Chaerin Im (b. 1994) combines grotesque narrative with cute, childlike imagery, centered on her yellow duckling character "Quaker." She studied Visual Design at Seoul National University. The soft, plush-like form of Quaker tells stories that are, by contrast, grotesque — its cuteness tempering the darkness with wit and innocence, reflecting the artist's own fascination with the pairing of cruelty and cuteness.
